It’s Leave-in Conditioner and Oil Treatment That Do the Magic!

Leave-in Conditioner and Oil Treatment

Since my recent post about hair oil, I’ve been thinking a lot about how I can incorporate the oil in my hair routine so my tresses can be better off in the long run. Experience tells me, if I can stick to one or two habits, my hair texture can sure be improved in no time. And believe it or not, it’s just two habits away! What habits are they? Leave-in conditioner and oil treatment. Before I tell you anything about their awesomeness, let me first walk you through my hair routine.

My “Before” Hair Routine

My previous hair routine was pretty lousy: an SLS-free shampoo followed up with a conditioner. Once in a while (which is when I had time and remembered to do so), I pampered my hair with some oil (think a long-awaited rain in a desert!). Somehow, the sporadic boosts from my oil treatment convinced me that my hair was doing okay. However, the fact was, those “good” times were far and few between. Eighty percent of the time, my hair wasn’t in good shape.

Then, my makeover called for a complete change. I started using leave-in conditioner and oil treatment. That’s what turns things around.

My “After” Hair Routine: Leave-In Conditioner and Oil Treatment

First thing first, a confession. The leave-in conditioner I’m using is a non-natural formula. I wasn’t able to find an affordable natural option locally, and the idea of slathering oil on my wet hair in the mornings is quite off-putting. That’s why I ended up buying a non-natural option. But hey, leave-in conditioners, helpful as it may, alone cannot do big magic for you. Yes, it can help keep moisture in your hair strands. However, for me, it’s more like a preventative measure. For real benefits for my hair, I’ve turned to oil treatment.

Oil treatment is a no-brainer, but unlike the method I used in the past, I now apply oil to my scalp. And I also varied my frequency of use. At the beginning stage, which had lasted about a few weeks, I deep conditioned my hair twice a week. When the dryness of my hair seems to improve, I did the treatment once a week. Now, it’s been several months down the road, I find my hair has never been in so good a condition!

Nice, Promising Result

These two habits have produced a result that is both positive and promising. I never thought my mane (being coarse all my lifetime) could really be repaired! It used to be brittle and fragile. Now, except for some of the frizzy ends, the general state of my hair is healthy and strong.

My mane is now in a more manageable way than it was. Needless to say, styling has become an easier job. Yesterday, someone even asked me whether I’ve set my hair. The fact was, I only air-dried my hair and applied some styling cream. It’s the courtesy of my glittery black headband .*bling* *bling*

Now, it’s your time! Have you ever incorporated any habits into your hair routine that has drastically changed the way your hair looks?
