About Me

Amanda - About Me Page

My name is Amanda. I started this beauty blog with one goal in mind: fight aging.

In my late twenties, I found wrinkles under my eyes. At first, they were just some fine lines, but then they evolved in a much quicker and terrifying way. Before months were gone, they had become rutty wrinkles (If you want to know how I got those crow’s feet in the first place, you can read the longer version here. For a short version, read on).

I believed these wrinkles were just temporary. And as long as I was diligent intending to them, they will “heal.” So I slathered more anti-wrinkle eye cream on the affected spots. I used eye masks with anti-aging ingredients daily. However the intensity of my effort, it didn’t pay off.

Added to this miserable situation were other aging signs such as dull skin, sagging muscle, and many more. I know make-up can hide them, but it isn’t a viable solution. For me, what make-up does is just to camouflage the problem (the symptoms), not solve it (the cause). I told myself I got to find a way to help myself, whatever it was.

The first thing that came to my mind was to buy more anti-aging eye creams. But almost instantly, I knew it would be a wrong decision. I had used anti-wrinkle eye creams in the past few years. If they didn’t work when the symptoms were minor, how could they provide any solution when the situation is much dire?

As a last resort, I turned to homemade skincare and started my experiment with the simplest ingredients: milk, honey, and potatoes. Frankly, I didn’t have much confidence in them, but amazingly, they work. Since then, I’ve never regretted using them.

About Me

I have no academic background in dermatology or naturopathy. What you read on this blog is my personal experience, research, as well as trial and error. Regardless of how you stumble upon this blog, I would be happy to share what I know and don’t know with you.
