This is the second part of a two-part series, in which I share my thoughts about the 10 things women should work on before they hit the 30-year-old milestone. You can see part one here. For part two, read on.
Manage Your Life
Reaching 30 years old is a big milestone in our life. By that age, we are expected to be a fully grown adult. We should have learned how to manage different aspects of our life, be it our job, social relationship, or personal issues. By 30, we should have a good grasp of how all of these should be done.
I don’t know about you, but for me I always want to have my own skill set or have specific knowledge in something. Approaching my thirtieth birthday, I think I need to nurture something in me. So I took on reading some years ago. It lets me know more things around me, and by knowing the things around me, I get to know myself better.
Knowledge is different from wisdom: knowledge is facts and information; wisdom is sense and judgment. The difference between the two is like knowing how to grow a tree (knowledge) and learning the life lessons from growing a tree (wisdom). There are inspirations from our daily life. We can learn quite a few if we pay more attention to them.
Lead a Balanced Life
When you are still a twentysomething, you can go merrymaking or burn the midnight oil until 3 or 4 in the morning. A good sleep is all you need to revitalize your energy and get rid of that ugly pair of panda eyes. However, at 30, you are not longer blessed. Lack of sleep can age you than anything else, and your skin may have difficulty bouncing back.
Learn to Smile in the Face of Difficulty
Learning how to smile when things don’t go our way can bring happiness to us and people around us. Getting older may not be a welcome thing. But let’s embrace it with smiles. Smiles can bring grace and elegance to you, which cannot be achieved otherwise.
