I don’t complain about my face (not that I’m pretty), but if my eyelashes can grow a few millimeters longer, things will become better. But hey, nature really has given us everything. With coconut oil, growing our eyelashes isn’t completely impossible. In fact, it’s quite possible!

I heard long time ago that coconut oil could lengthen eyelashes, but I didn’t believe it. However, my experience with coconut oil has proved that the statement is true. In my battle with my under eye wrinkles, I have used coconut oil on my eyes for weeks, and at the end of my experiment, I was amazed to find out that my eyelashes have actually grown some 0.1 to 0.2 millimeters (only estimation as I didn’t measure them with a ruler)! Just when I think my eyelashes will remain what they are in the rest of my lifetime, it’s a real wonder for me.

If you want to lengthen your eyelashes, I highly recommend you try coconut oil. It is also said that castor oil, olive oil as well as sweet almond oil can also stimulate the growth of the eyelashes, but I haven’t tried them.

One thing to note when applying any oil to your eyelashes is the application skills. Be extremely careful, and don’t let any oil get into the eyes. It can blur and irritate your eyes. If you have no idea how it can be done, I have some tips for you.

A Clear Mascara Stick
Buy a clear mascara stick in your local beauty store and dip it in your selected oil. Comb your eyelashes with the stick. Be careful not to use too much oil for every trial, or else the oil may trickle down into your eyes.

A Q-Tip
A Q-tip is another tool you can try. Use the similar technique as you do with a clear mascara stick. I never tried this method, because I don’t want to trash a new Q-tip every night. It’s not eco friendly.

Your Palms
Rub a few drops of oil between your palms. Close your eyes and cup them with your oiled palms. Don’t drag your palms as this may cause eye wrinkles. I use this method to apply coconut oil to my eyes every night, and no oil has ever got into my eyes.

actually I did try applying Coconut oil but if it gets into the eyes, it stings crazy so I stuck to almond oil.

Sometimes it gets a little bit messy to apply oil on your eyes. But like everything, practice makes perfect. I didnt try out almond oil in the past. Hope I could in the coming future.

Coconut oil helps heal eye infections. It is mildly antiseptic, hence the sting. But it is utterly harmless. So don’t panic if it gets into your eyes.

Thanks for sharing, but it doesn’t matter the cause for the sting. The fact that something has run into my eyes and caused uncomfortable feeling is scary enough…

Coconut oil? I used it at bedtimes and I don’t wash it off until next day in the morning. I didn’t go through any special routine to wash it off. Normal cleansing method is fine :) In fact, I didn’t notice any oil on my eyelashes in the morning so there is no need to worry about cleansing :) Mine was bought at a local supermarket. Hope it helps.

I use coconut oil for everything: dietary supplement for me and my dog (her coat and skin are soooo healthy); instead of butter, hair & skin moisturizing and conditioning. I have yet to try it on eyelashes, but will begin and get back to you! I’ve also heard that if you mix vitamin (squeeze in one capsule) that it is additional help and is awesome for thickness of lashes.

Hi, Belinda, I was quite stuck at work lately :P Sorry that I didn’t reply you timely!! Coconut oil is the first oil I tried in natural beauty. I’m glad that you also love this amazing oil!! I think by adding additional ingredient like vitamin in it, you can sure boost its potency, though I’m yet to try it out.
